Sheep

The sheep being used during the 2020 World Sheep Dog Trials are Scotch Mules.

A mule is a crossbred sheep and is bred by using a lowland ram on a purebred hill ewe. The rams normally used for breeding mules are Bluefaced Leicester, and in this case a Scottish Blackface ewe used to produce the Scotch Mules. The prolificacy of the Bluefaced Leicester is combined with the hardiness and mothering ability of the hill ewe.
