2020 World Sheepdog Trials

World Trial Update regarding Covid-19, Coronavirus

As you are all already aware, unfortunately the World Sheepdog Trials due to run in September 2020 will not take place.

In the past weeks we have been working extremely hard to gain the support to enable us to run the trial in 2021, and we are now very close to finalising details. We are hopeful that we will be in a position to release further information shortly. However, I can confirm that the World Trial that could take place in 2021 would be running as per the trial scheduled for 2020, and therefore no new qualifications would be required.

There is a concern on a wider scale due to Covid-19 regarding the uncertainty of restrictions to travel that still could be in place leading up to the World trial, and the obvious uncertainty of the functionality of the airlines by September 2021. This will all be considered and assessed ongoing, but for now our intentions will be based on working towards running the trial.

World Sheepdog Trials

All the world's countries, where there is a recent history of sheepdog handling, are invited to attend this presitgious triennial event in the Sheep Dog calendar. In 2020 we are privileged once again to be holding a Sheep Dog trial within the beautiful grounds of the Castle Howard Estate.

The Castle Howard Estate, which features over 200 listed buildings and monuments, is situated within the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 15 miles north-east of York. The estate is approximately 8,800 acres (3,561 ha), comprising 6,100 acres of farmland, 2,100 acres of woodland and 600 acres of parkland.
